BACnet Gateway

People Counting to BMS control

BRIDGING PEOPLE COUNTING NETWORKS WITH BUILDING MANAGEMENT SYSTEMS

The BACnet Gateway is connected to the Building Management System (BMS) controller “over IP” (local Ethernet) and feeds relevant People Counting data to the BMS in its native language. This makes the BMS smarter, enabling real-time building control based on the most important information: how the building is used by people.

Real time control

When sensor data is collected for a control system, real-time is critically important. Both FLOW and OCCUPANCY People counters push data to the BACnet Gateway, which is capable of fusing data, translate & push relevant information to the BMS, all in real time.

Multilingual translator

The BACnet Gateway uses modern IoT protocols like MQTT and LoRa to communicate with IoT devices, while smoothly exchanging information with BMS infrastructures, ensuring compatibility with the majority of modern and legacy systems using MQTT or BACnet.

A powerful device management tool

The Gateway enables easy configuration of multiple People Counting devices at once, saving time and simplifying the commissioning process. It can also run firmware updates on the people counting devices connected to the gateway.

Space configuration and data fusion, locally

The Gateway can host information about the building layout, including rooms, spaces and passages. Both FLOW and OCCUPANCY People counters can be assigned to specific areas so that aggregation and data fusion is performed on the Gateway computing power. This allows the output data to be as simple as possible, simplifying integration with the BMS.

100% data integrity and security

Data integrity is ensured by the infrastructure being fully local, bringing total peace of mind for security concerns. The BACnet gateway physically sits in the building, it handles all smart operations internally on-the-edge, and connects locally via cable to the existing Building Management System.

Optional 4G connectivity

The Gateway can embed a SIM card for external data transfer, allowing a door opening to the rest of the world without passing via the end-user network. This external communication can be used for remote device management, or simply to transfer People Counting data to an external server for further storage or analytics.
